FASHION Icon Babe
If I had a muse, like Erin Wasson to Alexander Wang, it would be this humble Dane.
A few moments after I took these pics, Dane chased me down to block to remind me that if I profited on these pics and sold them for marketing purposes and didn't share profits with him, GOD would strike me down and smite me.
he's real san francisco, flowers in your hair, ricky martin sexy, dracula darkness.
take me away from all this death. He's maybe actually sickly chic.

Opening May 26th at Lincart, SF:
"SMART Art" Trash to Treasure An exercise in reuse, artists rework objects sentenced to the landfills into fine art. Finalists, judged by members of the art and environmental communities, show their work at Lincart 1632 C Market St., SF, CA. 94102 May 26th- June 20th.
I especially appreciate Scott Oliver's "The Valley"- An armchair is disemboweled with its interior foam pulled up over its back and pinned against the wall to resemble a a distant landscape. The green upholstery at bottom is preserved to look like valley grass.

Winners: Salone De Mobile 2009 MILANO
Category: REINVENTION
A theme this year was transformative takes on iconic classics.
Among my favorites was a second take on Salvador Dali's iconic pieces for Spanish manufacturer BD Ediciones IN BLACK.
GASP! I've been waiting my whole life for this one..
Also notable is Cappellini's 2009 Edition of 1972's "Proust" Chair by Alessandro Mendini. It's another example of how Cappellini does not try to make its collection cohesive.

MOROSO Spa
Category: PLAYGIRLS
Progressive leader Moroso spa unloads one of the largest collection of new releases at Salone De Mobile this year. In the category of play they score high. It can be said that this collection of debuts is the most reflective of current trends in social and design thought. While these pieces (if they go into production) will be far from cheap, they lack the glamorous ostentation and pretense of her polished cousins.
Emphasis is on textile, and references (albeit brazen) austerity. Example would be Tokujin Yoshioka's "Paper Cloud" sofa, whose prototype was made of literal paper, and whose later iterations are clad in Tyvek. Also note the theme of cladding (in some cases existing pieces in the collection) in loud African prints. Another nod to the "unpretentious," a critical stand out which some can argue accurately reflects the attitude of those in our economic recession.

Sunshine Warmheart babe Idol
Resist this.
The other night, Stanley is taking back the record tables from hipster DJs at his consistently packed tuesday night eurodisco party, 'Chilidog' when one of them compliments him on how "goddamn polite he is." "I guess my mother just raised me right." He warmly responds.
He is pure warmth and HIRSUT REALNESS. and drool bears, DROOL, he's looking for a daddy. He possesses the ability to make everyone feel at ease, does it with kindness, "baby."

Structure du jour
This stucture stopped me in my tracks on 23rd + Harrison Sts in San Francisco. The layers of paint are sheeted over each other with the most careless precision.
The layers of paint darken as they progress in a ventral direction. Resulting in a discursive image in each center. Giving you the most subtle jump.
It is across from the mysterious 'Atlas Staircase House' on Harrison. A mystery I soon intend to solve...
